Praxis and process meet halfway: The convergence of sociological and cognitive approaches in translation studies

In translation studies, a range of different approaches and traditions has emerged to explain the numerous factors that influence decision process. While sociology cultural studies look at social practices in around translation, their psychology cognitive sciences counterparts concentrate on processes. this paper, we analyse discuss two claims particular, namely (1) some sociological are converging with respect accounting for processes, (2) these complement each other well, since former increasingly take account individual within societal dimensions, latter expand focus from extra-individual dimensions.
